Utah Browncoat Arches Tees!

For that special Utah Browncoat in your life, (even if it's you) we are pleased to present the gorgeous Utah Browncoats - Arches design!

All proceeds from these items will benefit the Good Works of the Utah Browncoat Society, which is a 501(c)3 public charity, and acts as the financial, charitable and fundraising arm of the Utah Browncoats.

This beautiful design has been graciously donated by our own William Pace - who is a hugely talented graphic artist. See more of his works over at Yellowjacket Art

Arches Patch - The Captain Approves!

Last year for Salt Lake Comic Con 2015, we debuted a new limited edition patch for the Utah Browncoats. This patch was created by our own local artist, William Pace.  The patch represents the town of Utah on the planet Hera within the expanded Firefly / Serenity universe*, as well as our local real life group. The  moons depicted are Eris (larger) and Bullet respectively, and of course our beloved favorite ship is flying overhead. Delicate Arch also celebrates our beautiful local landscape.

Since it's creation, this patch has been gifted to many people who appreciate the Firefly fandom, as well as purchased by local folks to celebrate their love for Firefly as well. Because of the nature of celebrity interaction, it's very difficult to get a shot of the moment that the patch has been gifted, and so that is why we are thrilled to be able to share this very special moment with our own Captain, Nathan Fillion.

The photo was taken on the set of the upcoming Season 2 of Con Man, and Nathan told the photographer that it was very beautiful! We greatly appreciate the cast and crew of Con Man Season 2 who made this photo possible, especially Alan Tudyk, Nathan FillionPJ Haarsma and Shannon Eric Denton.

We do have a limited amount of stock of these patches left, if you would like one of your own. Check out our Mercantile page for more information.

CSTS Salt Lake City!

Thank you once again to our very generous Browncoats who donated to our Can't Stop the Serenity 2016 events! We could not do this without your tireless efforts and support.
Because of you, we are able to announce our total donation of $4,424, which exceeds our 2015 amount!
75% is being sent to Equality Now, to continue the work of advocacy for women and girls worldwide.
25% goes to the wonderful charity, Kids Need To Read, who provide books for underfunded libraries throughout the US.
Who knew you could have so much fun while helping others? We just wanted to take a moment and tag some folks who helped make this possible for yet another year.
Much gratitude goes to Brewvies Cinema Pub and Legends for hosting our event. Huge thanks to Frankie and Johnnie's Tavern aka The Penalty Box for hosting the Cosplay night, which generated even more donations. Our greatest appreciation to William Pace for the very cool event tickets and graphics. Thank you to Lora Harpster - one of the founders of the Utah Winter Faire , for tirelessly making the beautiful glittery Serenity soaps which graced the goodie bags. Kudos to the folks at the Watchtower Cafe for the coffee boost in every bag as well! Thank you to the amazing people at Salt Lake Comic Con for donating passes to our raffle! Thank you again to everyone for the smashing success, and we look forward to next year!

Utah Browncoats help VOA Utah

In March 2016, we hosted a screening of Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along Blog at Salt Lake Comic Con Fan X. We were able to donate a generous $2,275 to the Volunteers of America's Utah chapter which was specifically earmarked to benefit the construction of a new 24 hour overnight shelter for homeless teens and young adults.

In May, representatives of the Utah Browncoats Society were invited to attend the grand opening of the shelter! We were very pleased to see the name "Utah Browncoats" represented on the permanent donor wall within the shelter (we did request it to be just "Utah Browncoats" but sometimes information gets scrambled), and even  more honored to have contributed even in a small way to the construction of such an important resource for our local community.

Huge thank yous again to everyone who contributed to the Dr. Horrible screening and made this possible! We love our Browncoats!

FanX 2016 - Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along Blog Screening

Our annual con-ending event, a screening of Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along Blog at Salt Lake Comic Con's FanX is a greatly anticipated happening. We filled our room to capacity (900!) and even had founder Dan Farr stop by to check in on the excitement.

We thank the SLCC volunteers for increasing the line organization and ensuring a smooth transition from the previous panel. Even though FanX is a "smaller" event, our screening was bigger than ever, and louder than we can recall! We even had attendees from as far away as Hungary and the Philippines, and hosted some of the cast and creators from Browncoats: Independents War.

Because of all the people involved in this event - from raffle donors to attendees, we are proudly able to donate $2,440 to the VOA Utah - Home 4 Teens! Thank you again to SLCC for donating the space and allowing us to put on the screening!
